About Mr. Martin Scheepers

Martin Scheepers (1961) is unit manager at ECN Efficiency & Infrastructure and manager of the R&D Program "Intelligent Energy Grids". He has over 25 years professional experience in energy technology research, energy market consultancy and environmental policy issues. He received a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc Chemical Engineering. After a career in gas technology research and consultancy he started working for ECN Policy Studies in 1997, first on regional energy policy and later on energy market liberalisation and regulation. In 2008 he made a transfer to ECN Efficiency & Infrastructure to become responsible for technological research in the area of smart energy grids. In 2010 he was appointed as manager of the Efficiency & Infrastructure unit. The unit is also responsible for the R&D programs Energy Efficiency in Industry and Energy in the Built Environment.
