About Mr. José Manuel de Riva

José Manuel de Riva is a graduate in industrial engineering and business administration from Madrid's Polytechnic University. He began his professional career in 1974 at IBM and soon after joined Spain's electric utility Union Fenosa where he was responsible for the areas of commercial and financial systems. In parallel to his professional activities, he was a professor on the faculty of the Madrid Polytechnic School of Industrial Engineering and at the Knowledge Engineering Institute sponsored by IBM and Madrid's Autonomous University.

In 1985 Mr. de Riva founded Informatica Gesfor which has evolved into Gesfor Group, a premier Spanish multinational that provides global IT services and HR consulting solutions around the world. With over 2,200 technical staff and international subsidiaries in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, and U.S.A., the group generated revenues of 85 million euros in 2009.

He is currently president and CEO of the Group as well as of Southern Star, a company which specializes in hospital information systems.

In 1995, Gesfor Group created Antares Consulting, Spain's first consulting firm to focus on the hospital industry and health care policies and management. Antares currently has offices in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal and Brazil.

Mr. de Riva is a member of the board of directors of CEIM/CEOE, the Spanish Confederation and the Madrid Confederation of Businessmen, a member of the Spanish chapter of Europe 500 Association of European Entrepreneurs, and a member of the board of directors of AETIC, the Association of Electronics, Information Technologies and Telecommunications companies of Spain where he presides over the Information Technology Commission.
