About Mr. Timothy Wheadon
Chief Executive of Bracknell Forest Council since 1 April 2003 and previously Director of Corporate Services at the Council. As Chief Executive, Tim is responsible for the overall leadership of a multi-faceted public service organisation.
Since 2003, Tim has led the Council through a period of sustained organisational change and continuous service improvement, with Bracknell Forest recognised as one of the most successful Councils in the country.
Tim is active at the regional level, being a member of the Improvement & Efficiency South East Board and the lead Chief Executive for performance improvement in the region.
Prior to working for Bracknell Forest Borough Council, Tim was a Chief Officer with the London Borough of Bexley and has worked for Suffolk, Hertfordshire and South Yorkshire County Councils.
Educated at the Universities of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (1974-1977) and Durham (1977-1980) where Tim obtained a Geography degree and a PhD study on The Inner City Housing Market.
