About Mr. Raúl Zambrano

Raul Zambrano is a Senior Policy Advisor on ICT and Governance at the
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Democratic Governance practice based in New York. For the last 20years, he has supported the deployment and use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in over 80 developing countries with the goal of fostering development agendas and promoting social inclusion, working together with both national governments and civil society organizations. His current portfolio focused on e-governance policies and programmes that enhance public information and service delivery for the poor and promote participation of stakeholders and marginalzied communities in public policy and decision making processes. Before he joined UNDP in the early 1990s, Mr. Zambrano
worked in the academic sector in the US. He has a background in
engineering, sociology, and economics.
