About Mr. Edgars Zalans

Edgars Zalans is leading expert of public administration reforms of the Institute for Sustainable Society. Previously more than two years he was Minister of Regional Development and Local Government. Edgars Zalans was responsible not only for local government and public administration reforms, but also for development and coordination of e-government, information society and information technology policy in Latvia.

Edgars Zalans received a diploma in architecture from the Riga Technical University in 1992. He has graduated from the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 1994 and received a post graduate certificate in planning.
