About Prof. Dr. Ir. B. van Arem

Prof Dr. Bart van Arem received his MSc (1986) and PhD (1990) degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente. From 1991-2009 he was a senior researcher and program manager traffic, transport and logistics at TNO. He was involved in EU projects Cybercars, Cybermove, eImpact, SAFESPOT (Core Group), CVIS (Steering Committee). He has served on the Board of Governors of the Intelligent Transport Systems of IEEE since 2006. Since 2003 he is a part-time professor Applications of Integrated Driver Assistance, University of Twente. He isfounder of the ICT Innovation Platform Mobility and ICT Systems. Since 2009 he is a full professor Transport Modelling at Delft University of Technology and chair of the department Transort and Planning at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences. He works in the High Tech Automotive Systems program in the projects Connect & Drive, Strategic Platform for Intelligent Transport Systems and as manager of the Connected Cruise Control project.
