What is the ‘Share UR Challenge’ contest?
WCIT2010 is developed around the central theme ‘Challenges of Change’ . With the ‘Share UR Challenge’ contest we let the public to participate in the event. IT-students around the world are invited to participate in the ‘Share UR Challenge’ contest. They can do this by uploading their own ‘Challenge of Change’ to YouTube (video) or Flickr (photo) and by tagging it as ‘shareURchallenge’ .
When does the contest start and end?
The contest starts on the 20th of April and ends at midnight (ECT) on the 20th of May. Only the photos or videos uploaded before the deadline can be presented to the jury.
What are the prizes in the ‘Share Ur Challenge’ contest?
Off course there are great prizes. All your positive energy should lead to something. The four best international uploads are invited to WCIT2010. At WCIT2010, students and professionals will focus on these challenges and their potential IT solutions. At the end of WCIT, a winning challenge will be selected by the jury. The winner can ‘grab the tulip’ of opportunity and really make a change by presenting their case to the WCIT2010 delegates, who can ‘bid’ on the follow-up on the solution!
As winner of the contest you will receive flight tickets and accommodation in the centre of Amsterdam during WCIT2010.
Who can participate?
All ICT students around the world (18+) can participate in the ‘Share UR Challenge’ contest. We do not accept photos or videos uploaded by professionals and companies. We do not accept photos or videos from persons directly linked to the contest either.
What is WCIT2010?
WCIT is the abbreviation of World Congress of Information Technology. This year Amsterdam will host WITSA’s 17th World Congress on Information Technology in the Netherlands. Without a doubt the premier event where business leaders, public officials and opinion leaders from all global regions come together to share and build a vision of a connected planet with access for all. IT as enabler for economic growth will be the main topic on the agenda for WCIT2010. WCIT2010 is developed around the central theme ‘Challenges of Change’. This ‘challenge’ reflects the sense of urgency that is felt by politicians, policy makers, companies and citizens, all seeking for ways to provide IT a prominent role in the current economic crisis and the economic recovery package in Europe and in the rest of the world.
