Can ICT speed up the realization of the MDG’s?
G103
9:00 - 10:30 hrs.The Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) set for 2015 are far from being met. Reliable water management and quantum leaps in sharing and uptake of Information and Communication Technologies are pre-requisites, not only to reach the specific targets of Drinking water and Sanitation and Information for all, but for any socio-economic development to eradicate poverty around the world. The speakers in this session will show how modern ICT applications are used to mobilise millions of people to develop capacity in water management and to raise the necessary funds to put the knowledge into practice. MDGs, why won’t we meet them!
